Even though Botox is generally safe, some side effects may occur, but still they are usually mild and temporary. Common side effects from Botox may include redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Some individuals may experience headaches, flu-like symptoms, or feel tightness in the treated area. In more rare cases, side effects such as drooping eyelids (ptosis), dry eyes, or asymmetry in facial expressions may occur, but these are normally short-lived and resolve immediately as the Botox wears off. In order to minimize the risk of side effects, it’s quite important to follow all the post-treatment instructions, like avoiding rubbing the treated area and refraining from strenuous activities for 24 hours.
