When will I see results?

This procedure is very unique for skin rejuvenation and tightening. It takes 1-3 procedures to see great results on your face or skin in other parts of body. Nova aesthetician will give you more information on different types of microneedling and how many sessions we recommend for your skin. After completing a course your skin will start healing process and collagen will be developing. It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for it to finalize under skin and tighten it. First few days some clients may have reaction for puncturing the skin. It may be slightly swollen or redness can appear.

What is the minimum age for microneedling?

Minimum age for microneedling treatment is 18 years old. It is a medical but non-surgical procedure that is allowed to be scheduled by adults only. For medical purposes it is possible to receive such services by Nova Medical Spa, but we require documentation and adult presence at all times. Doctor’s or nurse practitioner recommendation of treatment is mandatory. We would also require written consent of parent or legal guardian prior to scheduling microneedling in Toronto.

Is microneedling a one time procedure?

Course may be from one to three procedures. It depends mostly on type of microneelding service selected, type of skin/body and desired results by the client. Our professionals will consult you on type of all procedures and types of equipment we can use. Nova Med Spa will suggest best possible service for your specific case. Skin rejuvenation and healing has to be refreshed to keep results as skin has tendency to grow, forming wrinkles over time. We suggest revisiting every 6 to 12 month on average, but our aesthetician will assess give more accurate recommendation.

How long is each microneedling session?

On average microneedling session (with or without Radiofrequency option) should take 20 to 30 minutes. It obviously depends on how many areas and which specific areas you want to treat per session. Also time depends on experience of aesthetician performing procedure and knowledge of specific machine using. Just because someone has years of experience doesn’t mean they can operate properly at good speed with any equipment. Quality of microneedling machine makes a small difference as well, but not significant. It plays big effect on results, pain level and safety, but not as much on time of each procedure.

Pretreatment instructions?

Before you are in treatment for microneedling procedure with Nova Medical Spa, we want to make sure you are safe and give few instructions to follow. Your skin has to be in natural, non-damaged condition for safety and better effect from treatment. By all means avoid using numbing creams and antibiotics on areas where you want to do microneedling. Do not treat your skin with waxing, chemical peal, other depilation 10-14 days prior to treatment and 1-2 days of regular shaving is not recommended. If you have acne, skin burn, sun burn or any allergic skin reaction, please call Nova to reschedule your appointment for safety.

Even though you have many needles penetrating your skin and sometimes going deep into dermis during microneedling Toronto procedure, it does not hurt as much as you would think. Older version of machines or cheap hand held devices that you can purchase for home use may hurt more due to bad safety devices and thickness of needles. Nova Med Spa uses the best technology to provide skin rejuvenation by microneedling and maximum safety level for our customers. Of course it depends on your personal pain threshold, but most of our clients describe the process as vibrating feeling rubbing against the top layer of skin. Please let our aesthetician know during the session if you feel pain to adjust the machine and potentially go slower.

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation procedure that makes micro damages with super tiny needles to stimulate healing process and produce additional collagen and elastin that tightens your skin. There are several version of microneedling services. At first it differentiates in depth of penetration. Some procedures only penetrate skin (1-3 mm depth) and some can go as deep as 8 millimeters, penetrating into dermis layer. Newest machines have an option of Radio Frequency stimulation that helps producing more collagen and show better overall results with fewer sessions. At Nova Medical Spa we have all the options of microneedling and provide services that we believe are going to be beneficial for your skin.

How long has laser hair removal been around?

Laser machines have been around for more than 60 years with primary purpose of treating scars and removing tattoos. In 1995 FDA (in USA) has approved lasers for permanent hair removal and few years later medical spas business has started growth and popularity. Europe and Canada bounced of similar regulations and provisions, adopting laser epilation business into the market. For over 30 years of laser hair removal in Toronto the rules have become stricter and manufactured lasers are safer every year. Machines used by Nova are the safest on the market with the best results.

Does it work on white and dark skin?

Previously, Alexandrite laser hair removal in Toronto was working good only on light skin with darker hair. Other types of lasers may have had some effect on all skins, but results were not great. With progress in technology, latest models of lasers have amazing effect with any and all types of skin. Nova Medical Spa has list of situations when we cannot take patience for laser hair removal, but it has nothing to do with color of skin. Which body parts we have to avoid during treatment?

Two specific areas that we have to avoid laser treatment for are around vaginal tissue and on eyes. With experience and thousands of procedural work we can safely work around those areas and make sure our clients are completely safe when epilating hair. We understand that it is hard to spot, but thick ingrown hairs are not suggested to have laser over them. It can harm more and create a wound under the skin. Overall damaged skin, scars burns and open wounds cannot have laser hair removal over them. Ask our staff for more information.
